Barbour WMA Shooting Range — Comer, AL

The Barbour WMA Shooting Range is a public outdoor facility operated by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR). It provides 25-yard and 100-yard ranges, along with a dedicated concrete pad for shotgun clay target shooting, and features wheelchair-accessible concrete walkways and designated shooting stations.

Know before you go

  • All shooters aged 16 to 64 (residents) or 16 and older (non-residents) must possess a valid Alabama hunting, wildlife management area (WMA), or wildlife heritage license; lack of credentials can result in legal citations or removal by state game wardens.
  • Targets must be positioned so that all shots strike the bottom five feet of the earthen berm; shooters attempting to place targets at custom heights or non-standard distances are subject to reprimands from range masters.
  • Shooters are strictly required to clean up and remove all spent brass, paper targets, and shotgun hulls before departing; failure to clear litter from the public land results in reprimands for violating the clean-up mandate.
